The success of Walk MS is directly related to the wonderful volunteers who dedicate their time to the Chapter. We welcome volunteers of all ages, abilities and talents to assist with a variety of volunteer opportunities. There is only one requirement: a desire to see a world free of MS!

Check out our Walk MS Volunteer Opportunities!

Route Marking: Route markers are provided with a detailed map of the walk route as well as Walk MS arrows, a staple gun and tape. Route markers are asked to use these supplies (and their good judgment) to mark the route utilizing telephone poles, trees and street signs to direct our walkers along the route.

Sign Removal: What goes up must come down! After Walk MS we rely on volunteers to remove all of our route markers.  Volunteers may remove signs immediately after the event concludes.

Victory Vehicle (SAG Wagon) Drivers: Drivers are responsible for dropping off and picking up rest stop supplies, as well as picking up walkers along the route in need of assistance. Victory Vehicle Drivers must be at least 25 years old and
hold a valid NJ driver's license.

Registration Volunteers: Registration volunteers are the first faces our walkers see! Volunteers assist in event set-up, greet and direct event participants, collect pledge envelopes, register walk-on participants, and hand out T-shirts as well as route maps.

Mission Maniacs: Maniacs bring the mission to Walk MS! Maniacs circulate through the crowd to welcome and direct event
participants, thank people for participating, distribute Walk MS goodies to participants and cheer on participants.

Rest Stop Volunteers: Volunteers stock and decorate their rest stop (food and drinks are provided for the stop), cheer on event participants, keep snacks and drinks neat and well-stocked, as well as break down the stop.

Finish Line Volunteers: Volunteers assist with various tasks at the Walk MS finish line, which includes the set-up and distribution of lunch (varies by site), distributing medals and event break down.

Entertainers: Got a special talent? Share your skills with Walk MS participants to make it a memorable experience for all! We're looking for musicians, DJs, face painters, magicians, clowns, balloon artists, and more to donate their time and join the movement.

Photographers: Say cheese! Using your own equipment, you will take team photos, start and finish line photos, and route and celebration photos. A list of desired photos will be provided.

Teaming up for a world free of MS!

Did you know volunteers can join an existing team of Walk MS cyclists? Or that you can create your own volunteer team?

Volunteering is just more fun when you're part of a team! Gather your co-workers, your friends, and family and create a volunteer team to enjoy the event together. Volunteer teams are also a great opportunity to get your school, club or organization involved together. And, don't forget, as a team, you're eligible for any of our amazing fundraising incentives available to our participants!
